8th Annual Bulldog Beauty Contest & Haute Dog Pageants Sat., Feb. 11, 2012 Marine Stadium, Long Beach MAP | event details Front-row seats, $5

THE BULLDOG BEAUTY CONTEST will again be the main event at this year's Haute Dog Pageants produced by beauty pageant and bulldog enthusiest Justin Rudd.  In addition to the Bulldog and French Bulldog contests, Rudd will include pageants for Pugs, Chihuahuas, Pit Bulls, Cute Dogs, Ugly Dogs, Senior Dogs (all breeds/mixes, ages 10 & older), Mutts, Small Dogs, and Large Dogs.  Contestants ranging in age from four months to 17 years are expected to again travel to Long Beach, from as far as northern California, Las Vegas, Montana, Oklahoma and Arizona, to compete for the coveted 2012 titles.

The quadrupeds will parade down a grassy runway that included a 100-ft. red carpet runway, flanked by hundreds of gawkers and a panel of real-life beauty queen judges.  Judging was based on charm, first impression, face, figure and personality.

Bring $5 to get a front-row seat.  Or, bring your own chair.  All proceeds benefit the work of Haute Dogs and local spay/neuter programs.  Over the past few years, we’ve donated $32,000 for local spay/neuter programs.

HOW WILL DOGS BE JUDGED for the contests?
Each dog will walk down a 100’ red carpet runway flanked by hundreds of gawkers during judging. Bring a chair or rent one of ours for $5. Awards will immediately follow each contest.  Dogs will be evaluated on personality, charm, face, figure, and first impression. This is a contest where gender is no limitation.  Clothing is optional. We know that most dogs are so adorable that they shouldn't be covered up!

HOW TO REGISTER AND SIGN-IN
Entrants should sign-in at the orange-colored registration tent at least 10 minutes before each contest to get entry number. Bring a sack lunch. Free parking. Free to spectate. Separate entry form for each dog.  A dog can enter more than one contest (we encourage it).

INCLUDE: 1st and 2nd Place ribbons, Best in Show ribbons, gift packs.

Haute Dogs' "National Mutt Show" at 1 p.m.
National Mutt Show entrants will walk down a 100’ red carpet runway during judging. Judges are looking for style, charm, confidence and will consider face, legs, and smile. CHIHUAHUA BEAUTY CONTEST, 2 p.m.
Do you have a Beverly Hills Chihuahua? A Long Beach Chihuahua? A Newport Beach Chihuahua? Or, some other city, county, neighborhood to represent? All ages and types of Chihuahuas are welcome to enter.

Mixes are welcome, too. Real life beauty queens and others will select an overall male and female to reign supreme and win the BIG gift certificates to local pet shops.  The Chihuahuas will be evaluated on personality, charm, face, figure, and first impression. This is a contest where gender is no limitation.  Clothing is optional. We know that most Chihuahuas are so adorable that they shouldn't be covered up!
